Babiez!

Y'know, out of all the creepy stuff going down in the mainstream DC-verse, zombies and what-not, I don't think they've made anything creepier than Kryb. She is six kinds of messed up.

...just like this card. Yeesh, I really need to get some new markers, or at least a decent paintbrush.

Makin' up a card about Coraline

So, ah, I missed a day. I'll make it up over the weekend, I guess.

I really need to get some actual materials, instead of scrounging through old boxes for something yellow. Mostly a pencil-and-paper gal, me.

When the crypt goes creak and tombstones quake

The Hatbox Ghost from Disney's Haunted Mansion. Man, who else is stoked for the del Torro movie?

NO MONKEY-TOUCH!

Okay, here's the deal--I hate monkeys. Especially gorillas. Chalk it up to a frightening childhood experience at Showbiz Pizza, but man, they freak me out. So Gorilla Grodd, being a mind-controlling psychic giant talking gorilla is already not on my list of favorite things. But then you read him as written by Geoff Johns, with all semblances of civility ripped away, and...look, I'm not really sure what's more terrifying than a mind-raping giant gorilla with blood all over his mouth who's not only doing his best to break you in half and/or bite your spleen out, but is also sending very real images of him devouring you and your loved ones directly into your brain while growling about how he will feast on your flesh...

Yeah, that's terrifying. All the other Flash villains have a bit of control, most keep the killing to a minimum, but Grodd on the loose is nothing but pure, monkey-flavored carnage.

Monkeys...ugh.

If that's not good enough for Halloween, then, I dunno, pretend it's King Kong or something.

Let's play lions!

Trust me, I'm a psychopath!
James Nesbitt from Jekyll, one of the best things to come from Stephen Moffat. Creepy, fascinating, surprising, and brilliantly acted.

The guy sure looks like plant food to me!

Little Shop of Horrors. Another movie that must be watched to properly make it Halloween. I think I've got three or four of 'em.

Bit of Bradbury

The Halloween Tree. Fun, straaange movie to watch when you're a kid.

Say it once, say it twice...

Third time's a charm!

Alls I know is, it's just not Halloween if I don't watch Beetlejuice at least once during October.

The show and the movie got all mixed up in my head--I should probably look at reference next time. Also, should not draw cards while lying on couch. Good memo.

Picture if you will

I thought it might be time to start a blogspot blog as well as my lj sketchjournal, and figured a meme was a dandy way to start it off.

Sketchcards.  One for each day in October, Halloween themed, but Halloween as I dig it (way more goofy nostalgia, way less bloody gory horror flicks).

And what better way to start off a strange journey than with Rod Serling, just in time for the 51st Anniversary of one of the greatest shows ever to grace the airwaves.  Rock on, Twilight Zone, rock on.
